A classic of world music available again on vinyl; plus bonus track.
Ali Farka Toure and Ry Cooder knew and appreciated each other for a long time before they met for the first time in London in 1992. And as it happens, they agreed to "do something together".
The something became "Talking Timbuktu" in September 1993, a Grammy-winning classic of world music that stayed at number one in the world music charts for 31 weeks. "The Sunday Times hailed the cooperation of the two guitarists from Mali and the USA, who recorded the album in just three days, as "a triumph".
Now, for the first time in over 15 years, the record is being released as an LP, on 180 g double vinyl, including a previously unreleased bonus track.
