"Daddy's Home", the sixth album by Annie Clark aka St. Vincent, is the latest facet of an ever-evolving artist considered by many to be the most innovative and intriguing phenomenon in modern music.
Annie Clark made her debut in 2007 with "Marry Me". Her subsequent albums gained in stature and complexity, garnered critical acclaim, and her commercial success surpassed that of her predecessor, including "Actor" (2009), "Strange Mercy" (2011), and the self-titled fourth album, which won the GRAMMY for Best Alternative Album in 2014, making St. Vincent only the second female artist to ever be awarded in this category.
In addition to these solo works, St. Vincent also performs with others: Her collaborations include an album with David Byrne ("Love This Giant," 2012), an appearance as vocalist and lead guitarist for Nirvana at their Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction (2014), and a duet with Dua Lipa at the 2019 GRAMMY Awards.
Working with co-producer Jack Antonoff, she created a defining statement in 2017 with "Masseduction"; the album, as ambitious as it was accessible, propelled St. Vincent into the Top 10 on the US and UK charts, and landed at #1 on the New York Times "Best of 2017" list.
